While your body is sleeping you may not notice how much heat the pad is generating. There is a chance of getting a low temperature burn.

I recently had a nasty tumble off my horse. I am almost 60 and also suffer with facet joint arthritis in my back, so my injury was very painful. I went to the chemist to get a panadeine forte prescription and saw the pads on the shelf. I used 2 each day for 6 days and only needed the panadeine forte for 1 day!! The effect was not instananeous but the relief I felt with the heat was very comforting on the 1st day. By day 4, I new it was doing a great job and by day 6 I took them off after only a few hrs. I didn't use any anti inflammitories that the doctor recommended, just the heat pads. Having them on without having to worry about re-heating and sitting around all day was the best thing. It enabled me to still get around and keep moving to aid recovery. I now use them when my back gets stiff after riding or other physical activities. I have also passed them on to a friend for her muscle problems. I hope they are as good for her as they are for me. Try them, it's really worth while!!
